Trip to San Francisco

Phil and I were able to take a weekend trip to San Francisco a few weeks ago. Thanks to Elizabeth, Grandma Thompson and Grandma Larsen for watching the boys for us.

We were able to go to the beach and find sea shells for the boys. The shells ended up being there favorite souvenier. Too bad the water is too cold for swimming.

The first night we went to a San Francisco Giants game. It was fun, but also really cold. We didn't pack warm enough clothes for the cold evening weather. The stadium is right on the bay, so that made it even more cold.
The next day went to see the Golden Gate Bridge. It seemed much bigger in person.
This was one of my favorite things we did on the trip. We rented this go-gart for an hour and drove it all around downtown San Francisco and along the Bay. I know we look like retards with the helmets. We had a lot of people laughing and waving at us. It was a little crazy driving on the roads with all the other cars, trolley's and trains. The go-cart ride will probably always be my favorite memory of the trip.
We went down to Fishermans Warf and were able to eat some good sea food and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
We also went and took the Alcatraz tour. The audio tour was very good and also very educational. We learned a lot about the history of Alcatraz. At least the prisoners had a beautiful view of the city!

Sounds like a fun trip. I enjoy San Francisco too. Actually I usually tell people that the only good things about California are Alyssa and the beach.
