We love you Grandpa!

Grandpa Larsen passed away last night. I feel so lucky that Phil and I were able to take the kids to see him a couple hours before he died. For me, it was a very awesome spiritual experience to be in the room with him while he was going through the dying process. He seemed to be going through a lot of the same things that my Dad did when he passed away, so it was very emotional for me. I know that he could see through the veil and that he could see spirits that we could not see, but we could definitely feel that they were there. He was not very coherent. I tried to talk to him, not getting very many responses. But when I asked him what he was looking at, he said very clearly, "Angels". Phil was also able to get one response out of him right before we left. When we were saying goodbye, Phil told him that we loved him, and Grandpa's response was "I sure hope so." It made us all laugh because even as his body was dying he still had the same witty personality we loved. There are so many great memories I have of Grandpa! I know that he loved all his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. He was so proud of all of us. His family meant everything to him! I am so thankful that he was able to pass away quickly and that now he has been reunited with my Grandma, my Dad and so many other people that died before him. We love you Grandpa!!!

Diana, I thought I had left you a message, but I guess I didn't. I really appreciated this tribute to Grandpa. I'm glad you guys got to visit him last week, too. Every time to write about your dad I can feel that love that you have for him and I really wish I had known him. It's great that he can be reunited with his Dad after so many years. Thanks for sharing.
