"TOGETHER AGAIN"
Dean B. Taylor
1915 ~ 2009
Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away March 30, 2009. He was born February 18, 1915 in Provo, Utah to George Arnold and Hazel Bowen Taylor. He was the fourth of eleven children. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Duchesne. They lived there for twelve years before returning to Provo.
He married his sweetheart, Blanche Jacobsen on October 31, l935. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 22, l937.
Dean began his farming career in 1933 which continued until 1976 when he retired. He always had a love for the land. He was always the happiest when he could grow a field of corn, potatoes and other vegetables, which he freely shared with family, friends and those in need.
Dean was also a beloved school bus driver for 43 years. Whenever one of his elementary school kids was sick, he would always stop by and leave a little bag of penny candy. He loved and respected all children. In 1966, he was honored in Dan Valentine's newspaper column as "Valentine of the Year" in the Salt Lake Tribune. He also received safety awards for his driving record.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in two bishoprics, various organizations as president, counselor, clerk, and as a dedicated home teacher. He had the privilege of serving in the Provo Temple for seven years.
Dean and Blanche had a wonderful love affair. They were great friends and worked side by side throughout their married life. He has missed her dearly since her death in March l996. We know that he is again reunited with her and other family members.
Dean had a great impact on many lives through countless acts of kindness. His life was dedicated to serving others and he always cheered for the underdog. His family is ever appreciative of his loving and gentle ways. He always made everyone feel important and loved. Family and friends will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his children; Robert D. (Gelene) Taylor and Loralee Taylor (Neil) Thompson; his daughter-in-law Shalee Taylor; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; brother Lynn (Lael) Taylor, and sister Colleen (Bill) Green. He was preceded in death by his wife Blanche; son, Randy Taylor; 4 brothers, Elmo, Ralph, Shirl, and Lloyd Taylor; 4 sisters, Dorothy Horton, Martha Cheever, Leah Jacobsen and Joyce Bonnett.
Our family extends sincere gratitude to Nic Haws for the compassionate service he gave Dean over the last four and a half years.
