Peyton's first day of Kindergarten

It was a big day at our house as we sent Peyton off to his first day of Kindergarten. He just turned 5 a few weeks ago, so he will be the youngest in his grade. He is so ready for Kindergarten and was so excited to go, so that made our decision a little easier to put him in this year rather than waiting until next year. He was not scared at all. In fact he just wanted me to write his bus number and classroom number on a piece of paper and he said he would figure it all out himself.

I made sure to take him to a store where there were no character backpacks. I felt a little mean but he really likes the camoflauge one he found at Children's Place.

Here we are with the neighbors waiting for his bus to arrive. He was so excited to be able to get to ride the bus. Peyton's principal was on the bus. I thought that it was pretty cool that he would come and make sure that all the kids got to school safe and had a good first day on the bus. Peyton told me later that he did magic tricks for them when they were on the bus. He thought that was so cool.

After he got on the bus I drove over to the school and waited for him to make sure that he knew where to go after getting off the bus.

Peyton along with Sydney and Brayden waited in line patiently for their teacher to come to take them to class.

Peyton's teacher is so sweet. I am so glad that he got into her class, thanks to my Aunt Linda who also works at Peyton's school.

I did very good at not getting emotional in the morning or right when Peyton got on the bus, but I got a little choked up when I watched Peyton heading into the school. It just hit me that this would be just the beginning of the years that he is going to be gone and I would not be there to protect him anymore. He has grown up too fast. But I am so happy for him and hope he enjoys Kindergarten.

Okay, Its hard enough taking them to school, but I cant even imagine putting them on a bus in kindergarten. WOW! Although, I think it would be really nice once you are use to it.

That first day of school with the first one is such a big deal! I remember the tears just streaming down and Maddie telling me to go home so she could go to Kindergarten! It is always so much rougher on Mommy's! He looks adorable!
