Lily Kate is here!

We are so excited to announce the birth of our baby girl, Lily Kate. She was born on May 4th 2009, at 4:50 am. She weighed 7 lbs 1 oz and was 19" long. The birth went very well. I started having contractions on Sunday night while playing cards at my mom's house. We decided to head over to the hospital. Because I was having contractions and my blood pressure was a little high they decided I should stay and have the baby. I had to get antibiotics through an IV for a couple hours before they would give me Pitocin because I was Group B+. As soon as that was done I got an epidural. My water broke on its own soon after that and an hour later we had a baby. I only had to push three times before she came out. I am so gateful for modern medicine and that I did not have to go through any pain. We are so excited for the new addition to our family! We feel very blessed!

Phil slept on the couch in the delivery room for a couple hours before Lily came. That is why his hair is a little messed up.

Lily was very alert when she came out. We were so happy to have a healthy, beautiful little girl!

Grandma was our very first visitor in the morning.

Phil went to get the boys so they could see their new little sister. Noah was in denial. He hasn't been very excited about having a baby. When he walked in the room he said, "Is it a boy or a girl?" He knew we were having a girl but was holding out hope that it might end up being a boy.

Peyton absolutely loves and adores his new little sister. He was so excited to see her and get to hold her.

Noah got up a little closer to see his sister's face and then decided to stick out his tongue at her. It is going to be interesting over then next few weeks to see how Noah is going to adjust.

Ellie and Gracie are so excited to have a new girl cousin. It was cute to see how excited they were when they came to see Lily.

Matthew and Zach were pretty excited too.

Our first family picture with our new baby.

I got this cute picture of Phil and Lily. She's already got him wrapped around her finger! Phil won't admit it but I can already see how different he is with his little girl.

I was ready to leave the hospital after being there for one day. I am much more comfortable in my own house. A lot of neighbors and friends were really surprised that we came home so soon, but Lily and I were both doing great and feeling great, so we headed home.

Lily- 1 day old

Were were excited that Phil's parents were able to make it to see their new grand-daughter last night. Phil's dad was out of town when Lily was born and his mom was sick, so she decided to wait a day or so until she was feeling better.

Lily- 2 days old

We are so happy for this new little blessing in our lives!

Cute pictures! I love the one in her little red outfit--so cute!!! Girls are sure different than boys, you feel like you're playing dress up everyday. It's so much fun!

I love seeing Trent be a daddy to his little girls! Little girls are so special! And you look great BTW - I saw the pictures on Phil's facebook. :)
